Music to See is an independent publication about live music as a circuit: the festivals, the showcase events and conferences where next year’s bills are decided, the tours, and the companies and rules underneath all of it. It launched in October 2026 and is published from Barcelona.
Most festival coverage ends at the line-up poster. We are more interested in what comes after: how an edition actually went, what its numbers were, who owns it, and what the announcement for next year says about the one that just finished.
How we source
Every fact in a piece is linked to the place it came from, at the point where it is used: the organiser’s own announcement first, then trade and quality press. Figures are attributed to whoever published them. If we cannot find a source a reader can open, the sentence does not run.
We do not invent quotations and we do not use unnamed sources. A quotation appears only when it is on the record in a linked source, with the speaker and the outlet named.
Desk coverage and being there
Unless a piece says otherwise, it is desk coverage: reported from published sources, not from the field. We never describe something as seen that was not seen. When one of us attends an event, the piece says so plainly, and anything observed in person is marked as such.
Dates
The date on a piece is the day it was published. When we write about a festival months after it ended, the piece is a retrospective and reads as one.
Photographs
We publish real photographs only, never generated images. They come from Wikimedia Commons under licences that allow reuse, or from press material supplied by an organiser for coverage, and each carries its credit and licence. A caption says what the photograph actually shows, with the place and the year. A picture of the right field in another year is labelled as that year. A piece with no defensible photograph runs without one.
Tools
Our desk uses software to help research and draft. The standard does not change with the tool: no fact without a source the reader can open.
Independence and corrections
We take no payment for coverage and run no sponsored pieces. If we get something wrong, write to press@musictosee.com and we will correct the piece and say that we did.
The people behind the bylines are on the masthead. Press offices will find what they need on the press and accreditation page.
